Received Nov. 16, 8.45 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 15. “Some Liberals, not approving of my recent action, hesitate to oppose the Government, fearing to encourage protection,” said Sir John Simon, speaking to his constituents. “But if we consider tactics, are the Free Traders sure that if the Labour Government blunders along for another year or two Hie ultimate defeat of protection will do more certain f It seems to me that Liberal abstentions will make the reaction against free trade the greater.”
