THE CIVIC THEATRE

“HIGH SOCIETY BLUES’

Janet Gaynor. Charles Farrell and David Butler, the comninatton which made “Sunny Side Up” the outstanding screen musical production of thb past season, have done it again.

“High Society Blues,” Fox Movietone musical romance vrnich had its first showing at the Civic Theatre on Saturday is even better entertainment than “Sunny Side Up.” It has Miss Gaynor and Farrell as its star* and Buller directed.

The latest starring vehicle for the most popular team of screen sweethearts. has a much stronger story than their last previous production and interest, aroused by the opening sequence holds until the final fade-out undiminish cd.

Five song numbers are sung T»y the stars and everyone of* mem, to this reviewer at least sounds like i potential song hit.

Miss Gaynor and Farrell sing cnarmingly; their rendition of “Just Like a Story Book” winning especial recommendation from Saturday night’s audience.

A strong supporting cast includes lhe famous William Collier, snr., Hedda Hopper, Joyce Compton, Louise Fazenda. and Lucian Littlefield.

“High Societv Blues” is excellent entertainment which will prove pleasing to all classes of theatre goers. It is recommended without reservation. BULLS COURT SITTING. Mr R. M.
