MAYOR OF WELLINGTON
TO STAND FOR PARLIAMENT. IN FAVOUR OF FUSION. [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. At the request of the New Zealand Political Association, Mr G. A. Troup (Mayor of Wellington) to-day agreed to become a candidate for Wellington North at the next general ejection. He reserved to himself the right to support a party, but stated that if elected he would use every influence to bring about a fusion between tho United and Reform Parties as against Labour.
