WOMAN’S REMARKABLE STORY. [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 14. A remarkable story of the operations of a drinking club in the no-license district of Taumarunui were told in the Divorce Court by Olive May Haigh, who petitioned for a divorce from Percy Haigh, on tho ground of habitual drunkenness and cruelty. She said that while in Taumarunui her home was made the headquarters of the “Tui Club,” whose members used to order five or ten gallons of beer every weekand and gather round the keg until all were more or loss drunk. If anyone was still sober he would get a bottle of whisky by paying 255. His Honour: “That was after drinking tho barrel of beer?” Witness: “Yes.” Petitioner’s stepbrother said that some of the men would get so drunk that they would have to stay the night. After hearing other evidence Judge Smith said that the case was clearly established and granted a decree nisi.
