ROSE CEASES TRAINING ILL FOR FEW WEEKS. R. A. Rose, New Zealand's greatest distance runner, was recently invited by the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to appear against the visiting American athletes at Waimate on March I and at Christchurch on March 7 next. Rose has informed the centre that ho hits not been in good health during the past few weeks and has been compelled to cease training. He is therefore unable to accent tJie invitation to run in the South Island, but he has promised to consider the matter, if the centre still desires it, when he is able to go into training again.
