THREE BECOBDS BROKEN (From Our Own Correspondent.) MABTON. Nov. 1. The annual athletic sports were held on the Huntley School grounds to-day. Although the weather was not very promising in the morning, the afternoon broke fine and there was a good attendance of parents and friends. Three records were, broken, C. Broad establishing a new record for the 410 yards senior in 644 sec, and also in the half mile (open) in 2min. 29}sec., whilst P. Murphy cleared 4ft. 74in. in the high jump (senior), beating the previous record by an inch. Considering the state of the ground through the recent rain the above performances are very creditable Following are the results: — Long Jump, Senior—P. Murphy 16ft. 1 W. Hallwright 2. G. Bolton 3.
