PENALTY REDUCED
CRUELTY TO A DOG [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Oct. 31. The re hearing of a case in which Albert Arthur Cousins was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment this looming for mercilessly slaughtering a dog by causing it unnecessary suffering, was granted by the Magistrate. The penalty was reduced to a fine of £5 and costs. Mr Inder said the. accused’s employer was willing to pay the fine.
