RUSSIAN WHEAT
LOADING BRITISH MARKET “HITTING AMERICA HARD.” Received Sept. 14 6.30 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 13. A 75,000-ton freighter was chartered yesterday to bring wheat from Russia, supplementing 62,000 Italian tonnage engaged earlier in the week. JThe Australian Press Association un- . derstands that plans are being matured for- intense competition later in the month. A comparison of Friday’s sales parcels show Australian 31s, South Russian, samples 30s 3d and 30s. The Daily Telegraph’s Manchester correspondent says; “It is not dumping because Russia does not compete with British grain, but clashes with America hard. A leading Liverpool wheat broker says that Russia is satisfying the deficiency due to a bad crop in 4 the Argentine. Russia is keeping down the prices against American and Canadian pools; otherwise prices might soar.
