"BONNIE PRIMROSE” GETS DOWN TO NEXT TERM'S WORK

Dear Wendy,—Another week has flown past, and once more we "get down” to the last term’s work. How rejoicing, only one more term and we will have our Christmas holidays. Christmas is a very busy time, isn't it, Wendy? All those darling wee lambs will be raced into the sheep yards, and a man will come along and mark all the very fat ones. Then all the lambs and their dear mothers will have to part, never to meet again. I think it is frightfully sad, just to see all the chubby friends being driven along the road, not knowing where they are going to, but, yes, we know—"to the works.” Wendy, we have 26 of the most darling little chickens. They are a week old to-day, and they have grown, too. They have lost all their nice fluff, and don’t look near so pretty. Mother and I have been busy in the garden the last few days. Don’t the bulbs and, violets look pretty now, and don’t they smell? "Jacko” went home on Monday, and he told me to tell you that he sends his l_oye to you and all the Wendyites, and that he would try and write to you once again. I didn’t go away these holidays, and I don’t think I’ll go away next holidays. Well, Wendy, news is scarce, so I close. With tons of love.— From "BONNIE PRIMROSE,” Bonny Glen. I am ever so pleased to have your letter this week, my dear. The Christmas holidays will soon be here now, won’t they? Wonderful how the time does fly by, isn’t it? It is sad to think that the lambs and their mothers have to part, isn’t it? However, such is their fate. The chicks are dear, wee things, aren’t they? I love to watch them. The spring flowers are beautiful indeed. I do so love their , sweet fragrance. I am pleased our "Jacko” is to write to me soon again.— Wendy.
