“POPPY PINK." HAPPY IN HER NEW SCHOOL
Dear Wendy,—l am really scared to write, but I will tell you why I have not written before. You could not guess that school I go to now? I will tell you then. It’s the Sacred Heart in Wanganui, and I like it very much. Wendy, 1 am such a pest, I lost "Saile’s" address, and I would like you to give it to me, please ? I am home on a holiday 'at present, but go back on Monday week. I am going for a five-mils ride on my pony thia afternoon. It is raining a little here at present, nothing to speak of though. Our garden is looking just lovely at present with its violets, primroses, bulbs and the trees are also in bloom. We have a lot of lambs and two pets. They are lovely little things, aren’t they? Well, Wendy, I must go and do a little cooking now. so I will close.—l remain, your loving Ite, "POPPY PINK,” Mataroa.
How pleased I am to have your letter this week, my dear. I could not help but wonder what could have happened to you of late. I am so happy you have at last written. Oh, and so you are attending the Sacred Heart right here in our city. That’s fine indeed. Here is "Siale’a” address: Miss Adeline Hamilton, Tufukia, Niue Island. South Pacific. The spring flowers nre beautiful, aren't they? I do love their sweet fragrance. The lambs are dear, wee creatures, indeed. You may send for another badge.—Wendy. * • • • * "ALEXANDER THE GREAT,” Mangaweka. Oh, dear, but what n jolly surprise to be sure. I thought you had forgotten all about us in the Hut, my dear. Yes, I read all about the train smash. What a lot of damage was done. We have a large number in our Hut now, haven't we? Rugby is a wonderful game, isn’t it? Many thanks for the riddles and poem.—Wendy.
