SHIP LIES ON BEAM ENDS CARGO THROWN OVERBOARD [By Telesrraph—-Press Association—Copyright] Received May 16, 8.40 p.m, APIA, May 16. The motor vessel Beulah (Captain Hart) arrived at Apia to-day and reported unique thrills which she experienced three days out from San Francisco. At seven in the morning on April 25, the vessel suddenly listed to port and lay on her beam ends for 15 minutes. The deck cargo and five motor cars, drums of oil and kerosene and the ship’s motorboat shifted to port and it was necessary to cut the to save the vessel. When the cargo went, overboard the vessel righted itself ami then swung over to starboaxd, lying on her beam ends again for several minutes. Eventually she was righted as a result of the cargo being trimmed. No lives were lost.
