The Rev. H. Lindsay return, to Wan ganui to-day, after visiting Rotorua.
Mr R. Milbanke, who represents the Irish Bloodstock Agency, and is touring New Zealand, is staying at Foster’s Hotel. Ho has just completed a tour of Australia. He is a son of Sir John Milbanke, V.C-, who was killed at Gallipoli.
A Press Association message from Whangarei last night stated that Mr E. H. R. Evans, for ten years manager of the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, who has been promoted to the Hawera branch, was farewelled to-aay by a very large number of citizens and settlers, beii.*g representative of the whole district and presented with a well-filled wallet as a mark of the appreciation in which he was held by the bank’s clients.

The funeral of the late Mrs J. P. McDavitt, of Durie Hill, took place at the Aramoho Cemetery yesterday. A large attendance and many beautiful floral emblems testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. The Mayor, Mr W. J. Rogers, the deputy Mayor, Mr G. Derbyshire and the Town Clerk, Mr G. Murch, represented the City Council. The manager of the City Gas works, Mr W J. Stone, and several of Mr McDavitt’s fellow-workers were also present. Prior to thc cortege leaving for thc cemetery an impressive service was held at Christ Church. The Rev. W. Tyre officiated.
