I THAT THREE-MILE RECORD BANDOLF BOSE’S AIM (Special to '‘Chronicle”) WELLINGTON Dec. 6. On January 11 Randolph Rose, who in now specially training for the event, will endeavour to shatter his own Australian and New Zealand record for throe miles. The present record, of 14niin, 29 l-b see., was established on the Basin Reserve on March 2G, 1929, and Rose’s next effort will be over the same track. Rose is now farming at Inglewood. J. T Fleming, cx-Ncw Zealand qunr-ter-milo champion, who ran third in tho New Zealand quarter-milc last year, when the title was won by A. W. Findlay, of Otago, is training hard and confident of regaining his championship. He has run tho quarter in 50sec.. reported to be the best performance by a New Zealander. Fleming is working under tho charge of S. Murray the I trainer of the Now Zealand lady champion. 2)1 iss Mantann, and present advisor to Miss Normn Wilson, the Gisborne girl who represented the Dominion at the - Olympic Games. W. Kyle, 1 ox-quarter mile champion of New Zea i land also was trained by Murrav.
