MAN FOUND DEAD
LETTERS INDICATE SUICIDE [ Per Press Association ] CAMBRIDGE, October 1. George Middleton, married, with a wife and three children, a well-known farmer at Horahora, aged about 45 years, was found dead this morning in a gully about 20 yards fre m the homestead with a rifle alongside him, and a wound in the temple. Tho evidence points to suicide. Deceased, a son of Thomas Middleton, Auckland, had been missing since 11.30 a.m. yesterday, and was discovered this morning, dead, by a search party. Letters found in deceased’s clothes showed that he intended to take his life.
