HIMATANGI TRAGEDY

THE “BLOODSTAINED” AXE [ Per Press Association. ] PALMERSTON N., Oct. 1 Palmerston North detectives, conducting investigations into the Himatangi tragedy, know nothing of the finding of an axe, allegedly bloodstained, in the scrub near the scene of the Wright homestead, but point out that they have accounted for two axes used on the v farm, one of which they took into the scrub to shop kindling wood to boil the midday billy. This axe, very probably, was left where last used, to be found later by Mr Robinson and his party.
