Conditions in Russia
BRITISHER’S IMPRESSIONS ANOTHER SIDE OF PICTURE [ Australian Press Assn. ] Received Oct. 1, 11 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 30. In marked contrast to t'U'e Kent miners account, is the impression of Russia given at Swansea to Rotarians by Mr Dan Thomas, secretary of the colliery company and Lord Melchett’s principal Cardiff secretary. H'e states that he did not see an ill-clad child. All seemed excellently nourished and the whole nation had oily the £ood of Russia at heart. The men performed the drabbest of duties only because they believed that they were helping Russia. The distribution of happiness was far greater than ever under the Tsarist regime.
