Annual Report The annual.report was as follows: The committee has great pleasure in presenting the annual report and bal-ance-sheet for the season activities 1928-29. Although we were rather unfortunate in starting late in the season it is very gratifying to note the remarkable way in which this club made progress during the year. Weekly Club Nights—During the season the club held quite a number of enjoyable club nights for swimmers, and it is pleasing to note the keen interest in which all the members participated. Wo arc greatly indebted to the City Council for the use of the bath, one night a week free of charge, for holding club swims. Trophies.—We are greatly obliged to two well-wishers of tho club, who so kindly donated trophies. Mr T. H. lovegrove, whose trophy was for competition on club night for the ladies, was won by Miss E. Watson. Mr Bonner’s trophy was for competition on club night for the men and was won by W. Ansley. Tingey Cup and Thomas Relay Shield. —Both these trophies were allocated by the club to inter-club racing. At the preseit time the Gonville Swimming Club are the holders. During the seasen the club placed a challenge with Gonville for tho trophies, but after a very good performance made by our representatives, the Gonville Club succeeded in holding the coveted trophies once again. To the Gonville Club we extend our congratulations. Bridge-to-Bridge Race. —The club was rather fortunate in having once again very good entries for this race. The wirnen of this race was J. Campbell, to whom we extend congratulations. Mr. J. Campbell holds the big cup for a ya-r, and has a miniature of same to keep. We have had engraved on the cup presented by Messrs J. Williams and Co., jewellers, the names of tho winners of the old Bridge-to-Bridge Cup, namely the Sunlight Cup, -which was won by P. Matthews. By having these names placed on the other cup it makes the trophy more valuable. Membership.—The membership of the club now stands at 57. We hope during the coming season to increase the membership, and members are urged to biing along as many new members as possible. Finance. —The credit balance shows an increase over last year.

Carnival.—The club held one carnival, which was a great success. During the coming season we hope to hold at least two carnivals, and are quite confident that they will be a greater success than in previous years. General.—We take this opportunity of thanking all who have helped to make this club in every way a success, particularly the timekeepers, Mr Wilson and Mr Helean, who took such a keen interest in the club, and hope that they will again this season find the time to help once more. To Mr G. Watts, custodian, we wish to express thanks for the keen, interest which he has always taken in the club, and also xor tho valuable assistance he has imparted to the younger swimmers.

The committee would like to extend congratulations to L. Smith on his winning the New Zealand breaststroke championship at Wellington, also to N. Dowsett, who was second in the 100 yards New Zealand championship. Thanks are due to the press for the publicity they have given to the efforts of the club. In conclusion we would like to thank the members for the Keenness shown during the past season, and hope that they will work together to make the coming season even more successful than last.
