ALLEGED MURDER

BBAUMAN CHARGED. ( Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, Aug. 22. Charged with th e murder of Annabelle Dorothy Deans Brauman on August 7, William Henry Brauman, who was discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon, appeared in the Police Court this morning. The public gallery was packed, several women being among the curious crowd. Brauman stepped shakily into the . dock. He appeared to be still weak from his injuries and grasped the rails to support himself as he walked into the dock. Over his damaged eye he wore a bandage and shade. Brauman was not represented by counsel, no solicitor having been engaged yet to watch his interests.

Chief-detective Cameron asked for a remand for one week. He said that on Wednesday next he would probably be able to arrange for a fixture for the hearing of the charge. The magistrate (Mr Bartholomew) granted the remand.
