THE AUTUMN SHOW A well attended committee meeting was held this week to make the final arrangements in connection;- with the furthcoming autumn show —the Chrysanthemum Show, which this year will be held in the old museum building, Drew s Avenue, un Friday, April 26. There were present: Messrs H. J. DDuigan (chairman), C. H. E. Rhodes, Rev. J. Olphert. Snowden-Taylor, Sykes, Guildford, AlcElwain, Mesdanies Lethbridge, Wickham, Scott, Goss, Burrell, Simmons, Misses Anderson. McLeod and Mr V. B. Willis (lion, secretary). The secretary reported that it had been found necessary to take the museum hall for one year at a rental of £2U per annum to include the cost of electric light and gas and th c use of certain fixturc s . in the building. Thc action of the chairman in authorising this to be done was endorsed. The following sub-committee was ap _ pointed to finalise matters with thc museum trustees in respect of the autumn show: Airs Burrell, Miss McLeod and Messrs H. J. Duigan, Rhodes and McElwain. It was decided that the sub-committe e should hold its first meeting at the old museum building on Thursday, April 18. The following class stewards were appointed: All chrysanthemum classes, Air Rhodes and Airs Goss; cut flowers, Mrs Simmons and Aliss Worgan; tea urn and sign steward, Air G. AlcElwain; vegetables, pot plants and fruit, Mr and Airs Sykes; decorative, Mrs Scott and Airs Wickham; door-keepers, Alcssrs. J. E. Armstrong. P. Snowden-Tay-lor and Mr Sykes; show supervisor, Air A. T. Cavcli. It was decided to present a box full of used tin receptacles for flowers to the Wanganui East Society. The*indications are that a show of outstanding merit, will be staged, which will at any rate equal, if it does not exceed, the excellent of thc chrysanthemum show of last autumn.
