THE “CLOCHE” REVIVED
Everyone will welcome the revival of the “Cloche.” It is one of those shapes that is kind to us on bad as well as good days. The newer expression is less elongated, though still high. The crown is more draped and the brim a bit wider, sometimes more on one side than the other, says an English writer. But as in all such things, lines and moods must be carefully studied. Amongst the more fantastic millinery there is the Dutch influence, but, although such shapes, revealing the forehead in a very trying manner, are worn, it is best to keep them out of the country kit, for fanciful shapes never seem to me to be in keeping with the suitable country fabrics. The plaid hat in silk, and in wool, has its followers. Fur, mixed with felt, composes some cosy caps for motor, skating, and travel. If not too fantastic, they are pleasing and very wearable in frost and snow. For really wintry weather, more brilliantly coloured clothes can be worn even in England.
