MYSTERIOUS FIRE
OUTBREAK AT DUNEDIN. THREE HOUSES DESTROYED. [ Per Press Association ] DUNEDIN, April 16. A mysterious fire, which gutted three houses, occurred at Tomahawk this" morning. In the absence of a lire engine, neighbours and passersby assisted iu attempting to extinguish the flames, but were helpless owing to the lack of fire-fight-ing equipment. The bulk of the furniture was removed undamaged, out the buildings themselves were totally destroyed, despite all the efforts to save them. The cause of the outbreak is a inystery.
