VISIT FROM ALBATROSS
BIRD BALLS ON SHIP S DECK [ Per Press Association 1 WELLINGTON, April 16. "While the steamer Calm was making her way from Lyttelton to Wellington through heavy fog on Saturday morning a large albatross crashed into the rigging and fell to the deck. The bird was stunned by the force of the impact, and for th e rest of the voyage was carefully looked after by members of the crew. Fortunately the albatross did not receive serious injuries, and when the ('alm. left Wellington yesterday for Wanganui, it was intended to release it as soon as the vessel cleared the fceads.
