WAVERLBY PERSONAL ITEMS Airs Tcnncnt and Airs Alatthews were hostesses at a bridge party held iu St. Stephen’s Schoolroom on Friday evening. The room was gay with bowls of beautiful dahlias ami belladonna lilies. The guests included: Airs Harvey, Airs Gavin Alexander, Aliss Oliphant, Aliss Pattie, Air and Airs Wilson, Air and Airs Spratt, Air and Mrs Bach Harvey, Air and Airs Boyer, Air Symes, Air Elten, Air Carr, Dr. Duncan, and Air AV. Alexander. The first prizes were won by Mrs Duncan and Air Boyer, and the consolation prizes by Airs B. Harvey and Mr W. Alexander. “Belmont,” the home of Airs Walkinton, was tho scene of a gay party on Friday evening, when Aliss Mary Walkinton entertained some friends at a farewell in honour of Aliss Alary Harvey, who is leaving shortly for a tour of America. Newmarket was played, the winners being Aliss M. Brewer and Mr Ede, while the consolation prizes were won by Aliss AL Alexander and Air Farquharson. The decorations were very carefully carried out, the drawing-room being in pink ami mauve, while the supper tables looked very bright with red flowers and autumn foliage, which made an appropriate setting to the gaiety of the young people.
