AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING CHARGES [ Australian Press Assn, i LONDON, Dec. 6... It is understood that the shipping companies for some time have been en dcavouring to obtain a reduction ot the heavy costs of handling steamers in Australia, notably lightering charges and have been in communication with the Commonwealth Government. If it is found impossible for the companies to obtain any amelioration of the present oppressive conditions, the question of a revision of freights will further be considered.
