THAT BOTTLE

Sir, —I have been waiting patiently for one sensible letter from ’.he supporters of “That Bottle,” but so tar have waited in vain. Not one single argument has been given, by them, way such an eye sore snould Le placed in a public playing-ground, sarcasm, ridiculing and deriding those who stand for the good and uplift of the community, are poor arguments in defence of that which is cursing the human race to-day. Some ignorant folk say, “that alcohol is nourishing, strengthening, and invigorating. If so, why dees thp. athlete in training for a contest abstain entirely from drink'/

Can we blame the mothers and we men who have the welfare of their families at heart for protesting against, that, which has dragged so many of our fellow-creatures down to the gutter? It is offensive, and we venture to suggest that if it were not for £ s d in the business, those who are responsible for erecting such hoardings in our public playing area would be on the side of th.e. men and women who stand for God, home and humanity. ANNIE DUXFIELD, District President. W.C.T.U. Okoia, 3/10/28.
