STOLE HER CHILD
WOMAN IS CONVICTED [Special ••Chronicle” Service] AUCKLAND, Sept. 14. A human interest story relating how a woman stole her own child, was told in the Police Court to-day when Mrs H. Hall, who removed her seven-yjpar-old daughter from the custody of the State without permission, was convicted and discharged. Chief Detective Hammond said that the child W’as boardeu out in a good home at Avondale. Mrs Hall had gone to the school where the child was. and had asked to see her little girl. When the girl was brought to the steps the mother snatched it up and left in a taxi. She took the little girl to Sydney, where she abandoned it. and returned to New Zealand. In consequence ot lhe child -icing neglected, the police had been called in again. “It would not be so bad if the child u »rj taken away to a good home,” concluded Chief Detective Hammond. Mrs Hail: She was in a good home when 1 left her in Sydnev.
