U.A.O.D. [Special “Chronicle” Service] There was a large attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Miro Lodge. A.D. Bro. Green presiding. T.D.P. Bro. Drury presented the balance sheet of the annuau ba’J. ■which was held recently and in his remarks thanked the ladies, on behalf of the lodge who had come forward to assist. Great praise was due to them in helping to make the event such a success. He also included the members of the lodge. Bros. H. Green, Journeaux, Willoughby, jnr., and Eglington for the capable and efficient manner they carried out the electrie.aY wiring installation. On behalf of the lodge he was pleased to hand over to the Mayoress the sum of £l9, being half the proceeds, to be distributed to the poor and needy of Raetihi and district. The lodge decided to visit Taumarunui Lodge on Saturday next and a committee was appointed to select a football team from the members to play members of the Taumarunui Lodge, during the week-end. The lodge ritual competition was held during the evening. Bros. W. May, P. Raymond, K. Sig’ey and A. Willoughby taking part. P.D.P.’s Bro. Lynn and Drury and P.S. Bro. TTrwin acted as judges. The judges spoke highly of the talent of the members who had come forward, which showed the keen interest that was taken tn the lodge by new members. There were six men candidates initiated during the meeting and several were proposed for next lodge night. After the business of the evening had been disposed of. the members adjourned to the supper room where a most enjoyable time was spent.
