ALLEGED "READIES" AT TAKAPUNA RACES

COMMITTEE CONSIDERS CHARGES NOT PROVED [ Per Press Association. J AUCKLAND. July 4 . At the request of the Auckland District Committee an inquiry was held by the judicial committee of the Takapuna Jockey Club regarding the alleged “readies” in the Orewa and Wai-

wera High-Weight Handicaps run at the chib’s summer meeting on January 28 and 30 last. Each of the jockeys riding in these races and also S. Toomer and F. E. Loomb, trainers, and J. Conquest, jockey, were examined at length. The judicial committee unanimously decided that no evidence was adduced establishing the fact that the races in question were “readies’’ and therefore ko action relative to the alleged “readies” was necessary.
