Indications arc for southerly winds backing to south-east south of New Plymouth and East Cape, and to cast and north-cast, thence northwards, freshening generally and reaching gale force at places, especially in the north; rough seas about Fouveaux Strait, else-i where moderate, but rising later in the north and on the east coast. The weather will -be showery is the far south, elsewhere mainly rair at first, but i generally becoming unsettled in the north, with rain later.
