In the Dress Department we bought from a Silk Merchant hundreds of yards of Silks, Crepe Duchesse, 30 shades, 4/11 and 5/11, for 3/11; Crepe-de-Chines, 40 shades, selling 11/6 for 8/11; Crepe Mariottes, usually 11/6, for 8/J.l —over 30 shades; Fuji Silks, 40 shades, 3/6 for 2/6. Extra Good. A lot of Tweeds—extra good, 54in. to 58in., 4/11 to 6/6. Wool Crepe Cloths—Checks and plain. 40 shades, 5/9 and 6/9 for 4/11. Natural Fuji, 2/6 for 1/8, 1/2, 3/- for 2/6, 3/6 for 2/11; please compare our qualities. We made some big cheap purchases in our Men’s Deartmgnt.—We offer over 20 dozen Men’s Awltwist Shirts, extra quality, at same prices as the common 4/11. Petone made pure wool Flannel Unders, grey and pink (sold elsewhere at 7/11) now 6/9. Flannels, strong, for hard wear, pink and grey; usually 7/11, now 5/9. 30 dozen All-Wool Men’s Cashmere Sox, 4/6 and 4/9, clearing at 2/11. We bought 75 Men’s Tweed Suits, made in Auckalnd; usually sold at £5/15/-; we clear them at 52/6. We bought 80 Men’s Twee 1 Overcoats cheap and selling them at 45/- to 75/- and 85/-.
