ON A CORNER
STRUCK BY CAR HEAVY DAMAGES AWARDED. {Per Press Association. ? HAMILTON, June 23. The jury at the Supreme Court awarded £1199 damages to an Italian gardener, Bernardo Quadrio for injuries received when knocked off a bicycle by Martyn Baden-Powell Rosie, local Registrar of Pensions. Defendant was turning a corner at the time of the accident. He said he allowed plaintiff plenty of room and that he was engrossed in endeavouring to avoid some children crossing the road.
The evidence showed that Quadro would be about one-third incapacitated permanently.
