POORER QUALITY
LAMB FOR NEW ZEALANDERS BEST MEAT IS USED FOR EXPORT. New Zealand do«s not keep her best quality meat in the country—she uses it for export, according to a Supreme Court witness. This means that New Zealanders get meat inferior in quality to that which leaves the country,, but the average person in the street is not aware of this fact. Brief mention was made of the matter at the Wanganui sessions of the Supreme Court yesterday. “What sort of lamb do New Zealanders get?” asked his Honour, Air Justice Reed. “The rejects,’’ said a witness. Counsel, to his Honour: I know' if you got some lamb from a fanner you would instantly notice the difference from that bought in the butchers’ shops. ____________
