CONSTANT PRESSURE KEMPTHORNE. PROSSER’S HAVE A WIN. Determination and aggressive play gave K.P.’s a good win over Thistle in the Association football match on Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon. Snappy movements were frequent and the final result, three goals to two against Thistle, is a very fair indication of the trend of play. Soon after the start K.P.’s attacked energetically and tho Thistle goalie, Walker, was kept on tho move. He stopped a brisk attempt from Gilroy’s boot but was unable to clear and in an ensuing melee near goal Dick netted for the invaders, and K.P.’s were one up. Give and take play followed for a while, and Walker was conspicuous in saving the Thistle citadel. Thistle crashed through the K.P. defence and wore attacking at the interval. They came back again in tho second session and Heath, from a pass from McClay, evened when he sent one past Martin. Neillson shortly after miskicked for K.P.’s and Falconer, quick to take the opportunity, banged one past Martin’s reach, placing Thistle in the lead. Ther.ci were anxious moments for K.P.’s after this but they really were not; headed for the remainder of the game. Good work gave them the requisite two points for a victory, Gilroy and Hope, breaking the last line of defence, the final scores being: Keinpthornc, Prosser’s 3 Thistle 2 HONOURS EVEN WORKSHOPS DRAW WITH EASTBROOKE. Nothing very much of interest was caused by the clash with Eastbrooke by Workshops, and solid, orthodox play by both sides made the result a draw—two points all. Brilliant features were absent, but. the persistency of both teams raised the game somewhat above the mediocre.
