BENEFIT EUCHRE PARTY [ Special “Chronicle” Service, j The benefit euchre party and; dance in aid of an injured footballer (organised by Aiesdames G. T. Avery and Einten) in the Railway Social Hall on Thursday evening proved a great success and resulted in a profit of about £B. Prizes were won by Airs Larsen and Airs AlcNamara (first and second ladies*)* Alessrs Simpson and Atley (first awl second men’s) and consolation prizes by Air and Aliss Glengarry). Alusic for the dance was provided by Airs R. Stevens and Aliases Glengarry, Walkley and Rita Gaskin. Supper was provided by the ladies and a very enjoyable evening was spent, thanks being due to the organisers for their valuable assistance. FOOTBALL REPRESENTATIVE AIAT'CH On the Alarton Park this afternoon tho Wanganui representative football teams will meet a combined team from the Rangitikei and Taihape SubUnions. As both Unions are strongly represented in view of the representative match between Wanganui and Taranaki on June 4, at Wanganui, Rugby enthusiasts should be favoured with a good exposition of the game. A charge of Is for adults will be mad© at the gate and the match will start at 3 o’clock sharp. Alessrs A. Henwood and T. Richardson will referee. Athletic v.
