Jack Holt, has signed a new contract to be featured in a series of Zaun Grey western p.cti.rcs fur Paramount, according to an announcement by Jesse L- Lasky, first vice-president of the Paramount pictures, ihe first of these will be “Tne Vanishing Pioneer,” to be directed by John Waters. Holt’s former contract with Paramount ex pired a little less than a year ago. His last picture for Paramount was the Zane Grey story, “The Mysterious Rider.’ ’

Reginald Denny, star of the Universal buper-comedy, “Out All Night” is one of the most able aviators in the Hollywood film colony and is the owner of one of the speediest airplanes on the Pacific Coast. Miss Carroll, called “the most Irish girl in Hollywood,” has the desirable part of Rosemary Murphy in Anne Nichols’ “Abie’s Irish Rose,” now being filmed by Paramount. She is a discovery of Miss Nichols, who happened to see her from a window as she was puzzled over th-3 casting of the leading woman role in “Abie’s Irish Rose.” George Bancroft’s second starring production for Paramount will !»e known as “The Dragnet.’’ “Odd Fellows” has been selected as the title for the newest W. 0. Fields-Chester Conklin co-starring comedy. which is now in production. “A Date with a Duchess” replaces “Super of the Gaiety” as the title for the Adolphe Menjou picture. which will go into production following completion of his present peture, “A Night of Mystery.” # ♦ * * Helene Costello, screen star, recently filed suit in Superior Court here, for divorce from John W. Regan says a Hollywood message. The screen star is the youngest daughter of Mariuce Costello, vetehau movie idol. According to the papers filed in divorce, the actress alleges that her husband drinks to excess, uses harsh language, am! that he has worked but four week •luring their married life of six months. Helene was selected us a 1927 Wampas baby star, following her sister Dolores in this honour by one year. When she and Regan, the son of a wealthy New York family, wore married six months ago. it was declared that the marriage was the result of a childhood romance.
