METROPOLITAN CLUB ADDINGTON OFFERS BIG STAKES The committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club met on Tuesday afternoon to consider future events, states a Christchurch message-. The stakes for next season will total £36,000 an increase of £lOOO over this year’s figures.
The New Zcalanid Trotting Cup will again have a stake of £3OOO. It will be restricted to hotses who have done or been handicapped at 4.26 or better. The Dominion Handicap for unhopplect trotters will be for horses who have done or been handicapped at 4.34 or better. The tightening of the classes for these two races must he considered highly satisfactory.
