GENERAL NEWS [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service J Only one case was called at the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court on Friday, and that was adjourned on the application of the solicitor for plaintiff. Alessrs W. tf. Grey, J.P.,and C. J. Powell, were on the Bench. Air 8. A. Mair provides the following statistics of rainfall: —1927, Alarc.n 4.21, total to date: 9.01 inches; 1928, March 1.62, total to date: 4.30. Rain fell on six days. The maximum fall was 80 inches on Alarch 24 and the average for 25 years: 2.91 inches.
