JOHNSONVILLE SALE
A STEADY DEMAND. Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., and Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd., I report on recent Johnsonville sale. An average yarding of sheep and cattle was submitted to a good attendance of butchers. The bullocks were light but of goad quality and met with a good competition. A few pens of prime heifers and heavy cows sold readily. Wethers and lamias sold on a par with last week’s rates, but ewes showed a decline. We quote:—Wethers 31s6d, 32s Gd, to 335; ewes 235, 245, 24s Gd, to 26s 6d; lambs 225, 255, 265, 26s 6d, 275, to 27s 9d; bullocks £lO 15s. £ll, £ll 7s Gd, £ll 10s, £ll 15s, £ll 17s 6d, £.13 10s to £l3 12s Gd; cows £6 _l7s Gd, £B, £8 12s GJ to £9 10s; heifers light £5 15s, heavy £9 5s to £lO 17s 6d; vealers 265, 31s to £2 2s.
