TO-DAY’S FOOTBALL [ Special “Chronicle” Service. ] The 1928 Rugby season officially jpens in Bulls to-day when the local team will meet Tokorangi on the Bulls domain. It is expected that a fairly strong team will represent the Bulls club, and there is every prospect of a good game. The Bulls team will be selected from the following: H. Lunn, W. Bromley, Wereta, C. Ellery, J. Timmins, L. Green, W. Richardson, W. Tohu, J. Green, Ward, R. Flowed P. Hairaria, Kitney, J. Dwyer, F. Ingram, D. McKenzie, D. Westwood, L. Cooper, Campion. Air T. Richardson will control the game which will begin at 3 p.m. and players are requested to be on the grounds before the starting time. PERSONAL. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, School Health Officer, has been inspecting the schools of the district during the past few days. Mr Hogg, the Wanganui Education Board’s instructor in Agriculture, conducted an inspection of the local schools this week. Sir James Fcrgusson, brother of the Governor-General, will pay a visit to Flock House to-day. GENERAL. Householders meetings will be hold at all schools in the district on Monday evening, when the chief business will bo the election of school committees for the ensuing year. The meeting for the local school will be held in the Anglican Schoolroom at 8 p.m. when, it is hoped, there will be a large attendance. The final of the ladies’ handicap singles tournament will be played on the Bulls tennis courts to-day when Miss S. Walker (—5) will meet Mrs Bullard (3). As these two ladies are the leading players on the ladies’ ladder this game should be well worth watch-

The ladies of the local Croquet Club play a return match with Marton today and the following ladies will make, the journey to Marton: Mesdames L. Green, S. Ingram, C. Broughton, J. Larmor, E. Wilson, and H. Stevens. The men of the Rangitikci Golf Club will play a handicap bogey match on the local links this afternoon. Players are requested to obtain special cards for this match from the captain and record actual strokes taken. THE PICTURES. A final reminder is given of the screening of the First National picture, “Dance Magic” at the Bulls Town Hall this evening when Ben Lyon, Pauline Starke and Louis John Bartel will be featured.
