ANIMALS HAVE FADS
FOOD AT THE LONDON ZOO. The London Zoological Society shows in its recently-issued report that animals have their fads an t 4 fancies in the food line just as much as human beings. Among other delicacies, the animals consume some seventeen hundredweights of dates, currants, carrots, and cress in the course of a year. A’isitors to the Zoo frequently make it a practice to take large quantities of bananas with them, but they would find it difficult to exceed the number supplied by the authorities themselves. This reached 237.986 in .1926; while eggs came second with 25.200, and lettuces third, with 19,401.
