- AMERICAN MARATHON DEMAR’S SIXTH SUCCESS GREATEST IN HIS CAREER Received April 20, 10.20 pm. (Sun Cable) NEW YORK, April 19. At Boston, Clarence Demar, aged 39, won the American Marathon for the sixth time in 2hr. 37min. 7sec. The victory is the greatest in his career as he out-distanced the finest field of track athletes ever assembled in America. United States’ hopes for the Olympic Marathon are considerably raised by Demar’s masterful showing.
