Mrs W. B. Matheson (Tiratahi), Masterton), our hon. Dominion vicepresident, is now living at Seatoun Heights, Wellington. We. are all delighted to have Mrs Matheson back with us and are looking forward to having a travel-talk from Tier at conference time.

An interesting visitor passed through Wanganui last week, Airs Tomlinson. Tumut, New South Wales. Airs Tomlinson is a permanent member of the Country Women’s Association and brought with her greetings from that organisation. It was at Tumut that the \ isiting Housekeeper scheme was first tyied out in New South Wales. Airs Tomlinson has gone back fortified with all our data and has promised to write and tell u s wherein the two schemes differ. The Country Women’s Association is very strong. They have been in existence some sixteen years and have raised £25,000 for a seaside home where the country mothers can go for two or three weeks’ rest and change with her children. It is not a charitable aid. as the mother pays £1 per week, children under ten no extra charge and children from ten to sixteen ten shillings per week. The, New South Wales Government is whole-heartedly supporting the scheme and travelling expenses on the railways are free.

M hat a boon such a seaside horn would be to some of our out-bac mothers and their children who hav never seen the sea!

She has written for all information regarding the community service work of the Division to incorporate in her papers on New Zealand women’s community service work. Airs Taylor takes with her our “creed which she is offering as a plank over which all the women of llie world can pass to international jieace. We will all eagerly watch the papers for the reports on the Honolulu confer-
