DISCHARGE GRANTED
BANKRUPT BOATBUILDER AN AUCKLAND LANDMARK [ Per Press Association, j AUCKLAND, March 30. Despite opposition by counsel for the petitioning creditors, Charles Bailey (junior), a boatbuilder of Auckland, was granted his discharge from bankruptcy, by Air Justice Blair, at the sitting of the Bankruptcy Court this morning. . It was explained by Air Inder, who supported the application, that Bailey \s trouble was over a large contract with he Tongan Government, for which he built the steamer “Hifofoa.” A loss was made on the contract, owing to the non arrival of machinery ami failure of certain payments.
His Honour observed that the Bailey shipbuilding yards were a landmark of Auckland. Everyone with a knowledge of Auckland knew the firm. After hearing both parties, the Judge said he saw no reason for refusing the application.
