CONSISTENT BURGLARY
SAFES BLOWN OPFN OFFENDERS PLEAD GUILTY. [ Per Press Ajsociailon. ] WHAKATANE. March 30. At the Police Court this afternoon, Charles Barclay Dewar pleaded guilty to entering the Public Works flice on November 3 at Tancatua and attempting to blow open the safe containing £2700. He also pleaded guilty to entering the Whakatane branch of the Farmers’ Trading Company, blowing open the safe, and stealing therefrom £lO3. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentenceDewar, together with James William Shaw, was charged with breaking nto Franklin’s drapery premises and attempting to blow up the safe, and with entering Price’s grocery store, blowing open the safe, and stealing cheques and cash to the value of £252, cigarettes and other goods from the shop. Both pleaded guilty, and were commit-
ted for sentence. Alexander Lawson Andrew was c harged with receiving £6 from another man. well knowing the money was stolen. He was remanded till to-mor-row.
