RUMOURS OF CRISIS Victor Emmanuel Reported to be Abdicating TROUBLE OVER ELECTORAL LAW (By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright.J Received March 30, 11 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, March 29. Reports are circulating on the Continent that King Victor Emmanuel of Italy is about to abdicate in favour of his son. These rumours appear to be based on the belief that Signor Giolitti’s recent protest was not made without the King’s approval. The questions asked are:— Will King Victor refuse to assent to the new electoral law? Will he exercise his prerogatve and dissolve Parliament or evade a strength with Signor Mussolini bv abdication?
