TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES
INCREASE IN WAGES ARBITRATION COURT AWABT [ Picas Aaeoclation. ] CHRISTCHURCH, March 29. The award of the Arbitration Court in the tramway employees dispute | gives certain increases to men employ|cd in the Christchurch system. The tramway Board paid a number of permanent men more than the award rates, because they were doing their work well and the Board wished to encourage them to continue. The now award makes these voluntarily given increases obligatory. An increase of a penny an hour has been given to the majority of conductors and motor men j n the service.
