SOCCER
OPENING GAME EASTBROOKE AND WELLINGTON THISTLE. "With the approach of Soccer, followers will be interested in the annual fixture of Eastbrooke Club with the Thistle Club of Wellington. With the permission of the Wanganui Football Association, the match will be played on Victoria Park, on Easter Saturday, April 7, the kick-off being at 3 p.m.
From advice received from "Wellington, Thistle will be fielding a strong team and the local boys will have their work cut out to mainntain their prestige of last season. Fortunately East brookc are opimistic, and are fully confident of reversing the decision experienced last Easter, and with the inclusion of several new members great things are expected. A practice match will take place on Victoria Park on Saturday next, all members were asked to be present. The team will be selected from the following players: —Killeen, Fyfe. J. Seabrookc, W. Upton, E. Jones, Bolton, L. Clapham, J. Glover (.Tnr.). V. Clapham. McKeckie, Langslow and H. Seabrooke.
Any player unable to turn out on Easter Saturday is requested to notify the Secretary, Mr L. Clapham.
