WRITERS NOT WANTED FEDERATION’S BAN (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, March. 28. The Lawn Tennis Association has written to all associations affiliated with the Lawn Tennis Federation, drawing the attention of players to the new rule debarring players from writing to the press and broadca rfng which is especially important in connection with the Wimbledon championships. Hammond, Sandral meets G. Sumpter, Angas meets J. Johnston. Noel Wilson so far has a bye. In the doubles Malfroy and Sandia, Ollivier and Patterson, Seay and Angas and Park and Wilson all have byes. The first round entries in the ladies' section are poor.

WANGANUI EAST CLUB

The postponed friendly game against the Aramoho Club will take place at Ajamoho at 1.30 this Saturday. Following is the team: —

Mackley (captain), S. Cowie, Clark, .Eadie, Glengarry, Spurdie. Misses Grcenough, Gillies, Herd, Hawkins, Mrs Lc Brun, Miss Pepper. Two very nice cups have been presented for our Faster tournament by Messrs Glenn, M.P., and H. J. Grieves (Nettleships). The club is fortunate in possessing such generous friends. In addition to men’s and ladies’ singles there will be doubles and combined doubles (handicap). Quit? a novel feature of the cup competitions is the fact that they will be played for on the two-life system. Post entries will be accepted on the grounds each morning. ST.
