WANGANUI CLUB MEETING OPENS TO-MORROW RECORD ACCEPTANCES The Wanganui Trotting Club’s annual fixture to be held on the Wanganui racecourse tomorrow and Saturday, promises to be the best the Club has had for a long time. Record acceptances have been received and some excellent racing should be witnessed. Several of the horses fulfilled engagements at Wellington and Thames last Saturday, and the form displayed will be some guide for backers.

J. R. Corrigan, of Hawera, has a team of seven horses, comprising Bingen Spiers, Mokanna, Queen Elizabeth, Dillon Huon, The Tiger, Hostess and Sister Beatrice, and is sure to claim a share of rhe stake money. He is holding a clearing sale of the whole of his trotting horses on Easter Tuesday, which will give added interest to the performances of the horses at the Wanganui meeting.

Other Taranaki trainers are A. E. Adams, with The Abbey, Muriel Thorpe, La Campione, Abrudbanya and Van Cap; W. Willetts with Louie Dillon, and C. L. Kapcr with Co Advanceur.

Christchurch is represented by J. Loigelly with Brigand and Direct Todd, and H. Frost with Prince Ando. L. F. Berkett, of Nelson, holds a strong hand with Musical, Nellie Parsons. Clive Bell, and Louisianna.

Auckland trainers are: J. E. Shaw, with Warplane, which won at Thames, and Explosion, a well-bred young one by Nelson Bingen, and G. A. Williams with Bell Dial, Gold Dial and Nellie Bramley.

H. Garnett. R. L. Kearns and R. Tapp, of Ashhurst, all have several useful performers.

C. Olli ver, who trains for J. D. Piper) of Pahiatua, has Haere Grattan, Vallamont, Brian Bingen and Trumpeter engaged. In addition to the above. Hastings, Wairarapa, Wellington and Waikato stables are all well represented. The investing public are being catered for by the provision of a ten shilling totalisator on the lawn, and the prices of admission are very reasonable, which should assist to make the gathering a popular one.

The first race is scheduled to start at 11.45 a.m. The Garrison Band will enliven proceedings and it only requires good weather to make the gathering a record one for the club.
