BLAZE AT CAMBRIDGE

WOODEN BUILDINGS PARTLY DESTROYED

At about 3.30 a.m. this morning a block of old woodeu buildings in .Duke Street, owned by Alessrs Broad and Broad, were partly destroyed by fire. I Shop premises occupied by Air .lames Kidd, saddler, and at the rear living rooms, occupied by Airs Radford, wero completely destroyed.

By the splendid efforts of the brigade a portion of the buildings occupied; by Alessrs Broad and Broad, grocers and ironmongers, was saved, though the stock was slightly damaged by water.

The insurances are: On the buildings £740; on Alessrs Broads’ stock £4OO, both in the Sun Office; on Airs Radford’s household goods £35. Air Kidd’s stock, which was totally destroyed, was valued at £lBOO.
